Math Question

Are you allowed in your nursing school to use a calculator for dosage cal. I start school this week and all summer i have been working on my math. I can do all the problems without a calc. but its so much easier with one so I was wondering what your school allows. Im not sure what to expect with my school im going to be attending Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in NJ

Our school does allow calculators. However, they have to be simple bare bone calculators and not the scientific ones...I'm not really sure what the advantage is with scientific calculators, but that's their rule and I'm sticking with the program:D

That's because students can cheat and "type in" information on those calculators, then bring them up on the screen and look at them for the exam. I've seen it happen - not in my nursing classes, but in my stats class. and back in high school.
