Massasoit Fall 2017

Hi,

I didn't find a topic on this yet so I figured I'd start one! I recently submitted my application for Massasoit for Fall 2017. Anyone else?? The wait is going to drive me nuts!

Ive been a dental assistant for a few years and am deciding to make a change. I have all of my pre-reqs from before I even went into the dental field, which got me an Associates degree in health science. I have a good GPA and A's and B's in most pre-reqs, but am a little worried because I feel like I don't have the most competitive grades compared to others! Also got an 82 on the TEAS.

Monday nights are clinical, lab is either Tuesday/Wednesday (class was divided alphabetically) and lecture is Thursday. First semester clinical is 4-9:30, lab is open lab from 4-8pm, and lecture is 4-7pm.

looks like they updated again! I got in! Of course the first letter they mail is the one about payments :)

Is this the case throughout? or does it change as you go along?

This remained the same throughout the program with the exception of clinical which sometimes could take place on the weekends. For example I did maternity rotations every other Sunday 7a-7p. Also, during the last semester you will be taking 2 classes (Nursing C and Nursing Trends) so class will go until 8pm.

Awesome...thank you!

Hey LeleEke,

Congrats on you and everyone else who got in!!! I just finished my last freshman final, now onto my senior year. Your first semester is going to be fundamentals. You will have lectures Monday and Wednesdays 10-12. Depending on who you have for clinicals you will have Tue/Thur, Tue/Fri, or Thur/Fri. Those days are from 8-2. There will be weeks where you won't have clinical but will have long lecture days. Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

Hi Lily,

I was wondering what kind of school supplies you utilized. They sent us a list of things but I noticed a stethoscope wasn't mentioned. Do we need to purchase stethoscopes. Also, what kind of bag did you use or recommend, do we need to bring our books to class?

I was wondering if anyone got a list of supplies yet? Orientation date? I received the letter of acceptance and reminder to pay the bill lol... but that's all the info I have. Thanks :)

I got a packet and it just mentioned the uniform, shoes to wear, and the cost of textbooks. Didn't go into school supplies.

For school supplies you will definitely want to buy your own stethoscope. I would reccomend you buying a penlight too, just not at the school store. The brand they carry break after the first use. I bought a backpack for school and clinical. Nothing fancy. There are some days you might need to bring your fundamentals or pharmacology book to class. The professors will let you know ahead of time.

Thank you Lily, I see they've just put up the 5 books we need for first semester, lol
