Marijuana

Hi Everyone,

I am writing a care plan and I am unable to decide on the best choice for my #1 Nanda...

My patient presented with gravida 8, Para7. She smoked Marijuana and Cigarettes throughout her pregnancy. She is infected with Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia.

Baby was born 4 weeks preterm, is 5lb. 13 oz. but seems to be doing okay given all of the above.

I was going to do a Risk For Infection, but I am not sure that really is the best choice.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i feel bad for the baby...

I think risk for infection would be good and also ineffective coping r/t the substance abuse

I agree risk for infection however I would assume there would be more substances involved with a mother who smoked either tobacco or pot during her pregnancy... So ineffective coping may also be of large concern maybe even equally of concern. And other behavioral concerns

Risk for impaired parenting, especially if she decides to smart smoking pot again

She is infected with Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia.

If she is already infected, she is no longer RISK for infection.

Yes but is it postpartum care plan...or careplan for the newborn? If newborn then risk for infection would be entirely appropriate...unfortunately.

knowledge deficit r/t contraceptives.........yikes
