Manners......Over it !

So here I go again and beating that old dead horse, but I have had it with rude, demanding and obnoxious students.

These are elementary kids. They rarely if ever say "Please", "Thank you", "Excuse me" or even address me when they come into my clinic.

They bark out orders for Ice, bandaids, clothing for bathroom accidents.

I look at them and say things like: " What's the magic word " (for the littles) and " Is that how you ask for something" for the older kids.

They look at me as if I insulted them or something ! It's not just the students. I have teachers do the same thing and I am FED UP !!

It's too late for this year, but starting next year I am going to put this kind of behaviour to an end.

If you would like to ask me nicely, I will certainly assist you. If you can't be polite and courteous, then I guess you will not have your request granted.

MANNERS !! If no one else expects them out of you......at least I will ! We are going OLD SCHOOL. Manners will rule in this clinic !

Thanks for letting me Vent !!

I send kids out the door to come back in for a "redo". I tell them they've entered a "good manners zone".

Today I had a second grader remember she didn't say hello when she came in- she sent herself back out and tried again.

I have to laugh because even the principal here has no manners/social skills. he likes to come in and bark orders at me. I am SO close to saying "Hello to you too" next time he busts in like the Kool-Aid guy and starts barking.

Well, at least the Kool-Aid guy is smiling...

Yeah, well that part isn't accurate. ;)

I have a "May I please..." rule that is only allowed to be violated if you are crying or gushing blood!
