Is it just my computer? All these posts about the CPNE make me want to run somewhere (not sure where but I know it's far, far away). I'm finishing up my last exam next week and now I'm not so sure I want to be that close to being done!
Anyway, if her site isn't working, do you know how long her workshop is? I'm starting a new job this month and I REALLY don't want to take off work when I'm so new.
I wonder how many people watched Rob's dvd and passed without a workshop:eek:

It's working fine for me ...

Her workshop is 2 days, but if you're going to the Charlotte NC workshop, there is an optional third day -- skills lab.
My wonderful husband enabled something on the firewall so I couldn't access it... thanks it works now!

So happy that your that close. Don't worry, pace yourself and learn each area of care at your pace. I am waiting on a date but I told the MPAC that I would not be ready until after Nov 14. I went with the MPAC because I knew the NPAC was flying through their applicants and I did not want to feel rushed. I am going to Lynn's workshop August 14,15,16. I live in NC so it will take me about 2.5 hours to get to the hotel. I have been practicing according to the critical elements and what I think is right along with Rob's Video. I actually have watched it 3 times and took notes as I compared the information with the study guide. My biggest problem is saying the right words to directing the patient to follow my commands. I get very tongue tied and sound like some illiterate fool. I'm sure the more I practice, my wording will get better. I still have a ways to go. I have yet to start practicing the labs, care plans or documentation. Its gonna take some time to make sure I feel like I have it right. That is why I am not gonna rush my date. I'm fine waiting till January.

Now just my opinion here but if it were me I would pay the extra $$ and attend an Excelsior workshop. I attended Lynn's and she's a nice lady but gives some inaccurate info. I went to hers in July and passed in Utica Aug 3rd. All the info she gave I already knew so it helped me feel confident that I was ready but a waste of my money. Be sure if you do go that what you're unsure about and can't find the answer in your SG that you CLARIFY with an EC advisor. Good luck!

It doesn't matter if you sound like a tongue tied fool, you'll never see these people again LOL.
I worried about how I would sound in front of the real patient b/c when I practiced I sounded like a bumbling idiot. I kept going over in my mind what to say during the PCS and caused myself undue grief. Once I got in the room it just flows. Just go thru each area of care outloud like you're talking to yourself and focus on that only, cross off each thing on your grid as you go and you'll do great.

Excelsior's also gave me some inaccurate info. I ran into one of the instructors during my CPNE and she's going to make sure that the workbook is used to include something of which my omission failed me on a PCS.
That's good that it's going to be fixed. At least it all turns out well in the end for you:)

Lynn gives you page numbers to back up everything she says. So if she is wrong the study guide is wrong. I found no inaccurate information adn she was right on the money with everything she taught and I passed.
