LPN working for self?

Published

Hi, I am new to this forum. I have been a LPN for 6 years now; was a CNA for 15 years. I just moved from Minnesota to Oklahoma and was wondering if anyone could answer my question; I would like to put an ad in the paper to advertise my services for homecare in my area. Aside from transferring my nursing license, do you need any other license or certification to do this? I know I would need my own insurance, but I am really unable to find anyone who can answer this. I called the board of Nursing today, but they couldn't give me an answer either. Any help would be appreicated!!

I knew an LPN who ran a footcare business. Just needed PN license, footcare course certificate, insurance and a business license.

Good luck

cjp and fiona--

good morning! this thread is really, truly relevant. the # of hours at my work haven't yet been what i'd like them to be, and the idea of doing in-home care was given by one of my co-workers (just to fill in on off days). fiona, i'm guessing that you are talking about ? and a business license. that in itself is kinda scary, but i will have to look into it, i guess.

cjp: thank you for starting this thread.

fiona: thank you for the info you provided

Thanks for the responses~!!!
