LPN to RN

Published

Hi,

I had a question what LPN to RN programs that are accepting students? I'm planning on applying for Fall 2020. Originally I was expecting Front Range Community College but they are not accepting LPN to RN students. And neither is Arapahoe Community College. Now I'm not sure what to do. I heard about Colorado Christian University but its a private college and tuition is $16,467 per semester which I think is outrageous. Any suggestions?

Fort Morgan? Quite a haul, but not a lot of choices in Denver. ?

@shiftingtides are you in the LPN to RN program at Fort morgan?

I’m not, but I know some fellow LPNs who are applying, or will be next year. I noticed that their prerequisites seem limited, and I would think given the distance it might be a little less competitive than some programs.

I’m down in the Springs area and don’t want to try that commute from here. Pikes Peak did not run their LPN to RN last year, and I’m not sure if they will this year or not. It’s getting tough to find programs in Colorado, so I’m considering applying for Hutchinson’s in Kansas (online classes with in-person clinicals). The only others I can think of offhand are Pueblo and Otero, even farther from you if you are in the Denver area. ?

Thank you to responding. I'm also looking at Hutchinson, I've learned to never put all your eggs in one basket so I'm planning on applying to Fort Morgan, (even though their program is pretty much M-F, Monday and Fridays is classes and 2-3 days of clinical), Northeastern Junior College (Classes on Tuesday and Wednesday and Clinicals Thursday's and Friday's). I was also considering Pueblo Community College but still waiting to hear back about their program. But like shiftingtides stated there is not many options if your in the Denver metro area unfortunately. I refuse to let that stop me from moving forward with getting my RN.

@keykey0890 Hutchinson looks accomodating, but they receive 200+ applications according to the secretary of the dept. thats competitive for a few spots. Fort morgan looks promising but the rural area kind of would be a challenge to secure housing and employment. and the whole mon-friday stuff doesnt seem doable. but its an option i suppose. after speaking to them i was told its once a year to apply?
