Just wondering how often you have seen an LPN as a ADON??

Not in PA as against our practice act... other states do permit.

In Massachusetts, the ADON MUST be an RN. A facility I know got tagged by DPH by having an LPN as the 'acting' DNS which is what the ADON does if the DON is out of the building.

NY has severely restricted the scope of LPNs in LTC. We try to have an RN in the building at all times.

I live in Missouri and have worked in several LTC facilities where the ADON was an LPN. Most of them did an excellent job.
