Hello and welcome to allnurses.com

Glad to have you with us.

Contact your certifying body/organization and they can assist you on how to receive another.

Hope you enjoy the site.

Is there any way I can find my certification online ? I am certified but can not find my certificate.

How does one lose their "certification". Do you literally pay for a certificate saying you can now start and maintain IV's, Do you carry a little piece of paper to show your patients on demand ?

In my workplace it is considered an added nursing skill... you are trained, do a learning package, then maintain your proficiency. If you don't feel proficient in the skill, go through the learning package again (annually) and seek remedial teaching from Staff Ed.

I'm sure the OP has lost the actual certificate. And, yes, I imagine the OP took an IV certification course.

I've misplaced CEU's before and have contacted the place who administered it and they've been able to get copies for me. Good luck.

Perhaps the OP just wants a copy to show prospective employers, not patients. In Florida IV certification is given separately to LPNs and they need the certificate to show employers when they are hired somehwere. (RNs have this built in already to their license). The OP is in the USA and not at your place of employment, and things might be a tad different. :)

i ws thinking the same thing as tweety, lpn's submit copies of certification with resume when applying for a new job

rn.s are certified when in school and unless they are taking a refresher course their proficiency is covered with license

Such a pity you misplaced your IV certificate.there should be a recommendation attached to the certifcation on how to get another one when you misplace it.Ask so that u 'll know how to go about getting another one.
