Wishing you well in your search for a study buddy. Have you checked EC's website? They have a link called Study Buddy Finder. Also, being that EC's LPN-RN program is online, have you considered online study partners? I did my entire ASN program that way and made some wonderful connections. And now, 3 years later, we still communicate about everyday living, vacations, job stressors, BSN progress, etc. It was and still is great to have met such wonderful people that I have never laid eyes on as of today. Try it, you'll love it!

Hi all my fellow LPNs. I am in LPN in Orlando who is also using Excelsior to complete my RN degree ( and hopefully my B.S.N) . Unfortunately since I didn't enroll before October 2012 I have to complete the credit bearing exams for Micro and Anatomy. I have begun the "review" process and hope to complete both exams within the next month or two, so that I can solely focus on nursing exams. Honestly, I am not much of a study buddy. But, with this being a self-paced program, I think that studying with others would keep us all going at a pace that would allow us to complete this program in a reasonable amount time (i.e 12-18 months rather than 2-3 years). May you all have success with your educational goals.

Hi the I'm not of a study buddy either lol I'm here in Orlando too I'm looking to do lpn to rn with excelsior , I don't have any prerequisite , but I may do then in Valencia thru flvc online , how is the job market for excelsior graduates in Orlando? I'm really looking for people that are doing this so I can motivated and star . I'm scare of the cone!!n that I won't find a job but I m not going to wait in wait list , wait lists are ridicules , so much for nursing shortage. Any info you may have that may help me make the decision will be greatly be appreciate :)

I contacted the Florida State Board of Nursing before I enrolled just to be sure that I could sit for the RN-NCLEX as an Excelsior College A.S.N. graduate. As it turns out, Excelsior College A.S.N. graduates can sit for the exam. I think that since there is such an abundance of job listings for R.N.'s in the area, it shouldn't be hard to find work after getting your license. Hospitals may be the only location where R.N. graduates may not find it easy to find work. I also have heard that 3 years L.P.N. experience= 1 year R.N. experience. I don't know how true that is, so don't let that deter you. In regards to the wait list issue, the people say that it is due to a shortage of instructors to teach the programs, but really it's because they have decreased the amount of students who can enter the program. Also, most of the spots available (80%) are for the concurrent path students (R.N.-B.S.N.). So far, I find completing my A.S.N. an advantage because I can work and complete my degree without interrupting my work schedule. Will it be easy, probably not since I home school my kids. But its a challenge I am willing to take on because I am over the sit-in-eight-hour-classes 3-4 days per week.

Thank for the info how many test have you taken n how hard or easy was it

Actually, I haven't taken any of the nursing exams yet. I am studying for the Microbiology and Anatomy credit bearing exams right now. I heard studygroup101 is good to use for the nursing exams.I checked it out for myself. I may use it to study for the nursing exams, as I have heard of some students completing all 8 nursing exams (excluding the CPNE) just by using that website and practice exams in 6 months! So once you decided if Excelsior will be a good fit for you, let me know. Maybe when can collaborate together and complete this program in 6 months :).

Just seeing this lol don't know how I missed it. Thank you I'm going to look into it been doing it alone and it's draining. I heed motivation.

Hi! Have you given excelsior anymore thought? Email me [email protected]

Thank you. I am actually looking to complete this program ASAP. a friend of mine finished it in 6 months. I'm trying to be done before May next year. I have all the pre reqs from a community college and I took the transitions exam. I am studying for a Health safety which I will take in 2 weeks. If you have any questions email me at [email protected]

Going to stop procrastinating and take the microbiology and anatomy credit bearing exams in two weeks, God willing. Due to work schedule changes, I am going to have to thin out my examination dates further than I would like. But where there is will, there is a way to get it done. :)
