Looking for Nurses who work or have worked at St. Agnes

Hi - looking for any nurses who worked at Saint Agnes pref in postpartum, l&d, and NICU.. how is it there? Do you enjoy working there? Any idea of starting salary for a new grad nurse? I'm looking for information on the hospital, and I'd love to hear more about Saint Agnes - all of the information I can find on this website is very dated. I have heard horror stories in regards to the med-surg units, but it seems as if they have good ratings in maternal care.

Any help would be appreciated - good, bad and indifferent.

Thank you.

I cannot give you any information on mother/baby units, but in general, you could not pay me enough to work there. I have applied and interviewed there three times (I was desperate for a job lol) and all three times I was treated poorly by the person conducting the interview. I can handle not getting the job, but being rude, disrespectful, and not communicating properly I have a problem with. Also, the recruiters call and schedule interviews but don't bother notifying the hiring manager so when you show up no one knows what you are doing there. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I can only speak of my own experience! Good luck!

I totally understand what you are saying. I have had that experience with just about every hospital though sadly. Interviewed at Sibley and the hiring manager left early without notifying HR. At least they paid for my parking and I was able to get my HR interview out the way but i had to go back to meet with the hiring manager. Shady Grove was a three day process and they didn't even want / feel the need to followup with me. Granted I had to pay for parking and EZpass fees. Interviewed at UMMC and HR was nasty there too...

It seems like you and I could trade quite a few war stories about HR departments! lol I also interviewed at UMMC, the downtown location, and I was absolutely appalled at the treatment I received! In what part of MD do you live??

Howard County..as a new grad..I unfortunately can't be too picky though

I take it you have applied to Howard Co. General? I would suggest trying MedStar or GBMC. Also, I'm not sure if you have looked into Balt-Wash Hospital Center, although they are part of UMMC, I know people that work there and they seem to like it. Let me know if I can be of any help :)

Thanks, I have applied to just about every hospital in the DC, MD, VA area. GBMC is only hiring nurses with BSNs right now. The same goes for MedStar too I feel as I have been keeping in close communication with the nurse recruiter and still haven't been offered an interview.

I would double check about MedStar. I have seen several jobs on their hospital websites that do not state a BSN is required. Look for RNI listings. I worked for two different MedStar hospitals and a BSN was never required (I didn't have one either! lol) I understand things have changed but I would look closely at all of the different hospital listings.
