Looking to become a RN

I live in Plymouth, MA and I am looking to accomplish my dream by becoming a RN. I just graduated high school and I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I had applied to Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, but all their seats are taken, not to mention the amount of times they messed up my application. I would like to commute to the college/program so I prefer it be somewhat close to Plymouth, MA. If anyone knows of ANY colleges nursing programs near me that I can begin my journey, PLEASE let me know!! All advice and guidance is much appreciated, thank you!!!!

CapeCod Community College has an Associate's Degree program, but it's very competitive. I think Bristol Community College has an Associate's Program. UMASS Dartmouth is in commuting distance and they have a BSN program. Again, it's not easy to be accepted into any of these programs.

I emailed about Cape Cod Community College today, their deadline for their Nursing program for Fall 2013 semester was back in January. As I'm sure most spots are already filled, it's seeming to become more and more possible to begin my journey this fall :(

Didn't you say you just graduated high school? You will have plenty of pre reqs to complete before you can apply to any nursing school anyway, so maybe you can get started on them while you wait for another application process to begin. Takes 2-3 semesters to get those done anyway.

The PP has a point. You need complete the prerequisites first anyways.

Yeah, I was all confused. For some odd reason I was under the impression that I had to immediately jump into a nursing program, and they would set me up with my prerequisites. I didn't realize I could start my prerequisites at a college and transfer into their nursing program.

Quincy College has a nursing program and they have a Plymouth campus. Massasoit in Brockton (right down the street from brockton hospital) also has a program. I would look into Quincy since it is closest to you. Good Luck!!

I second Quincy College. They have a campus right at Cordage Park. Go speak to an advisor at Quincy College. They can set you up with what you need. You'll probably have to take AP1, college algebra, biology, and english before you start the program although I recommend getting as many of the core classes done as possible. I took microbiology and RNU206 together this past semester (I'm also an LPN) and I have to say it was very difficult to keep up with both. Not saying it can't be done, but if you just have to focus on Nursing it's much better in the long run.
