how long to wait for job

I have a question maybe noone can answer but here goes

How long is the wait between having the interview and hearing if you have the job?

I had an interview 2 weeks ago and I was wondering if I should give up hope and move on so to speak.

I did apply other places this week just in case.

In my area, I've usually been offered the job on the spot, immediately after the interview took place. If not, they usually call me back within 1 week if they are interested.

It can't hurt to call your interviewer to see if they're still interested in you.

If you really want the job, call them and ask where they are at in the process. Sometimes it helps to tell them that you have another job that you need to give an answer to but you wanted that job more and wanted to give them a chance to offer it to you before you accepted a different position. Just don't make it sound threatening - have seen some people do this and it backfires.

I would just call them up, and find out, the worst thing that they could say is "no you did not get the job" Oh well, just keep trying at other places. Rhonda

i was always raised that if you call, you are showing intest. that is supposed to be a good thing! always worked for me, but everyone and everyplace is different
