how long do you keep your proof of training for?

Hello all

I am a newbie here, and I would like to ask a question. After some serious tidy-timing i have found a lot of my old certificates / proof of training sheets, I was wondering how long do I need to keep these for?

Thank you :-)

Ha ha i have read the book 'the magic of tidying' by Marie Kondo and gone on a tidy frenzie :D

I keep proof of education around for around 2 years. My license is renewed every 2 years and I have proof of continuing education in case I get audited.

I get into that mode after every visit to my mom, she is in a one bedroom in senior housing but she is a slob and a clutterbug. I vow to NOT do the same to my child and have really weeded out a lot over the past few years.

Back to the subject, I have a binder that I keep them all in which is in my office at school, so there it sits all full and will get dumped probably when I retire!!

I would double check what your state BON says about that in their recommendations. If you get audited for one year, they are likely to want to see copies of certificates for previous renewals.
