London Based NPs

Published

Hi all from victoria in australia.:)

I'm working towards NP endorsement 2009 in CCU/ICU here at my hospital to meet shortcomings in formal CCU/ICU medical care. I'm travelling to Toronto for the International NP Conference in september and Am returning via London for a few days. Is anyone aware of NPs practicing in London in similarly acute clinical areas that I could make contact with? :saint: I havent yet planned that leg of my trip too formally as yet so any ideas on clinics etc 'out there' to visit would be hugely appreciated.

Cheers!

Welcome to the site, I have put your thread in the UK section as I think it will get a better response.

I think Karen G is a community NP in London so hopefully she will see this.

I am a NP in Wales, if you get no luck with London I am more than happy to help out but realise that it will be extra travelling for you

:up:Thanks for that, Sharrie. I'll see what comes my way...I only have four days in London and since I'm not at all familar with the city, I'm a little reluctant to travel too far from there..

Best wishes,

Sue

hiya

I'm the afore mentioned NP in london- and yes, I work in a general practice in south east london. I dont know of any acute care NP's but I will put a message on the Nurse practitioner mailing list and see if anyone is out there!

if you could pm me some contact details, that would help. you are very welcome to come and meet me.. though its not exactly what you are used to!

Thanks Karen- I feel like I'm getting closer to the 'holy grail'..but then that may not even be in London, hey?! I know the USA has several Acute Care NPs but my time doesnt extend to a trip there unfortunately.

and I'm working at developing a Critical Care NP position in our 8 bed Unit. We already undertake extended clinical practice with initiation of diagnostic testing and regulation of ventilation modes, for instance- forced on us due to the lack of a formal Intensive Care director. So I'm really hoping to liaise with a NP who works in acute care and discuss guidelines and role progress etc. I will be staying in Queensborough Terrace in London so not keen to travel too far from that area- only because I have to get back and my bush skills may not work so well in central London!

Any ideas or names would be hugely appreciated.
