Why do Nurses have a problem putting their license numbers on ceu's
that are offered in the hospital or any other information that comes
along. License numbers are public knowledge and are easily accessed.

If they are not submitted to the agency that provided the CEUs, then it is harder to get credit for them sometimes.
Not sure why people do not list them, I have always seen it done when I have taken a course of any type. Never an issue for me.

I dont put my # on my papers because I never have my card with me and don't know my number by heart. I have my wallet card but don't like to take my purse with me to meetings and such. Maybe thats what others do also.

Texas CNE Committee recommends that license numbers and SSN not be used. The preference is birthdates & name. The license number is public, but it is not secure when the signature is also provided.

Great, so let's give the people our birthdate. So instead of trying to impersonate a nurse by stealing our license number, they can use our birth date to steal our identity. Someone didn't think that one through either.

I live in a state where "nurse imposters" are common. These people obtain the license numbers of active nurses, and then manage to find employment. Nine times out of ten, these "nurse imposters" steal LVN/LPN license numbers and use them to find jobs, because they know that many nursing homes and extended care facilities are so desperate for staff that they'll sometimes hire LVNs without completing the background checks and verification of nursing licensure.
In other words, my license number is my personal business until an authorized person requests it. I don't want to become another statistic, where some con artist or saddletramp from off the street uses my license number to obtain a position as a nurse.

I want my credits to be credited to me, so I have no problem putting my license on my CEU's.
If anyone wants to impersonate me and credit me CEU's they can have at it.
My address on my license is the hospital I work at, so the most personal infomration anyone can find about me is where I work.
