Specializes in ER/Trauma.

Hello All,

I will be moving from GA to the Leonardtown, MD area in the summer and I need some advice. Would it be better to research travel assignments first or is there a facility that stands out above the rest? I have 6+ years in ER nursing and I would like to stay in the ER, but I'd keep the option of Cath Lab or ICU open as well. Where do I even start? Thanks for any advice.

K..

Ah not a lot going on down there from what I understand, most people have to commute quite a ways from what I hear

Which county are you in?

Leonardtown is St. Mary's county I believe. There is a nice hospital in the area that is in a respectable health system (MedStar): http://www.medstarstmarys.org/careers/#q={}

Not a lot going on in southern maryland at all, but this is my home and I love it! The hospital in Leonardtown is MedStar St. Mary's, and I will be working there for at least two years after I finally graduate nursing school, since I have a scholarship from them. It is a small hospital though. I know Calvert Memorial hospital is right over the bridge, and there is also a hospital in La Plata, though I can't think of the name right now. Other than that you would be looking at more of a drive from the Leonardtown area.
