Hello, I am curious has anyone used the learningext review to study for the nclexpn? This is my second time testing so I really need to nail it this time. How did you like it? Was it beneficial? Did you pass? What were your scores on th posttests after you read the outline your 1st time? Were the questions similar to the nclex?
Thank you sooooo much!

hello...i'm taking the exam on 1st week of february. i've been studying since november 2008 using saunders & kaplan. for saunders, my scores are around 75 to 80% but in kaplan, my highest grade at qtrainer7 is 66% and for the readiness test is 66%. now, i'm reviewing with ncsbn because i exhausted all the questions in kaplan. my scores are around 60s. is that safe enough to pass?
granted, i will continue studying but i need to estimate if i should re-schedule my exam date.
i'd appreciate any input.
hey you guys also im going to do this review course in california called LifeSavers? Has anyone in cali done it or know anyone that has?

you are doing great. my readiness test grade was only 62%, Saunder scores was b/w 60-73%. kaplan q trainer 7 was 68%. it is very important that you know how to prioritize and delegate your patients. know you infection control and know what to wear as precaution. know your medications, especially cardiac and asthma medications.
develop your critical thinking knowledge, so that you can know how to pick right anwers, and don't rush to pick answers. it took my 3 hours and 15 mins. to do 75 questions. instead of cramming all the drugs, learn drugs that belong to the same family. l got 10 medication questions. (10 sata. which l swear l got all wrong).
take care and pray.

Orangepink and snowbunnylife, try to do more practice questions on saunders CD and review after you take the quizes or exams, it is much more helpful than kaplan from my experience. I did kaplan qtrainers and NCSBN website review (8 weeks) for the second test but I failed (212 questions and ran out of time), I just passed my 3rd try (85 questions in 2.5 hrs) and I only used Saunders for reviews.
I do not find NCSBN review as helpful as Saunders either. You need to know how to critically think and apply knowledge from nursing school in real life situation. Saunders is a very good content review and you just need to apply that knowledge to the exam and trust me you'll do fine. Scores does not really matter, post tests either, what really important is that you understand why you get the answer wrong or right, understanding the rationals behind it what the nclex is looking for. Good luck on your tests.
I just get worried because my scores are mediocre with kaplan & my ncsbn diagnostic test was a 59% but when i reviewed a bit, i started getting 60+ grades.
When I asked around especially those who passed, some recommend kaplan, others swear by NCSBN but most do use Saunders for review of content. I've been going over 3 different reviewers! Trust me, I'm way beyond stressed. Who knew there were so many values for a normal BUN?!?!?!?!
thank you for all your inputs and please keep them coming.
