Leaky midline

Published

This may be a stupid question. I recently had a midline in my right arm for two weeks of vanco and merrem for meningitis. On the 13th day, I noticed a thin, bloody drainage under the bandage... is that a sign of infiltration, or could it just be that the line was old? It was removed the next day and I haven't had any issues, but it got me wondering what the leakage indicated.

Since TOS doesn't permit seeking or giving medical advice, you will need to address your concerns with your health care provider.

It isn't a current situation. The line is out, so it isn't medical advice.

All I asked is what the leakage indicates.

It indicates you need to call your attending provider and ask. Even if the line is out it's still medical advice and not permitted. Good luck
