Lazy Staff

Published

I am becoming fed up with lazy staff. Not only am i doing my job, but now the job if others as well. I figured out that every week 6-8 hours of my time is now spent doing the job someone is already getting paid to do.. All I keep hearing is how tight our budget is.. Perhaps getting rid of ineffectual staff would be a great start..

Nothing has worked so far, so I've stopped answering her call lights.

For me that's a last resort, because the pt is simply an innocent bystander, and making them suffer goes against the grain. However, the best way to make management pay attention is if family and pt complain about poor care.

My facility has started cutting CNA staffing and making nurses do primary care. This nurse doesn't think primary care is in her scope of practice.
