Last weeks interview

Published

Hi all,

I don't post much, but I am reaching out for some opinions on an interview I had last week for a new grad residency. Some background about me: I was a medical assistant for two years at a family practice clinic which is affiliated with this particular hospital which I interviewed with. I also did my practicum at one of their several locations. I have a prior bachelors and masters degree in education and I am graduating from a bsn program. I felt confident with the interview at first, and now I am analyzing everything that I said, didn't say, or did during the whole thing. It has been a week exactly since the interview and although I feel that I have a lot to offer, I was very nervous during the interview. I answered some basic interview questions, two scenarios which I know we're answered correctly and two behavioral questions which I didn't prepare for at all because I thought it was a strict scenario based interview. I answered them to the best of my ability. I asked questions about the hospital and how the hospital promotes continuing education with their nurses, but I am really doubting myself. Any words of advice or thoughts about my post would be appreciated!

if it has been a week, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give a follow up phone call. Good luck! It's not at all unusual to wait a week or three to hear back. :)

Thanks! I feel like I've definitely relaxed over the past few days. I called the recruiter and left a message, but no call back, which I had expected. So, at this point it is just the waiting game. Thanks for your response!

A week to wait is nothing. There's an article linked somewhere here that lists 10 reasons it may take awhile for a decision to be made.

And there are no 'bad' interviews, as every interview helps you to learn to be better prepared and polished for the next one.

Thank you all for your thoughtful and encouraging posts...just to keep you updated, I was offered the position today! Woohoo!

Congratulations!
