Last Night working

Tonight is actually my last night working in the ICU. I have decided to take two weeks off before school. It is really bitter-sweet. I have mixed feelings right now. One side I am extremley excited to start this journey that I have been waiting for so long. I cant wait to learn the new skills and gain the knowledge that is required to become a CRNA.

On the other hand, I feel terribly scared and nervous about the unknown. I have taken out loans and prepared for school but still feel thoses jitters. This will be my first time not working as an adult and I have a little anxiety about that.

Anyway, i know things will work out as it always does and I will be just fine. Hell. this has been long over due.:nurse:

Congratulations!!!......I am sure that you will do fine in school!!!...Taking some time off to breathe is a very good idea because you won't be able to do that for a while. I am sure that you are going to miss many people that you have worked with over the years, but we both know that it is worth it in the end.......Hope everything goes well for you!!!

Hey Rnbeauty,

I feel you joy/pain. I start my program in January, Wednesday was my last day at work before school starts.

Ro,

I too feel this way as my last day of work is next week before starting CRNA school in January. I have not been without a paying job in 15 years. Wierd!! I think it would be abnormal to not have anxiety about starting a program that requires such a huge commitment from yourself and family (and the anticipated financial strains and DEBT).

I have a husband and 2 boys (ages 7 and 4). They, amongst others, are my support team and we will survive together. Hopefully you too have a great team of individuals that stand behind you.

Good luck to you and congratulations!! ;)

Congratulations!!! I am sure everything will work out for you. Hopefully by this time next year, I will be quoting the same thing. What school are you going to?

Headed for Barry University here.

Hi all...glad to hear others have similiar feelings and emotions as me. My last day is FRIDAY! and super nervous about not having a steady check and not having to work--gosh no more "fill out your schedules and put in your holiday requests!" But also nervous about the unknown of my life awaiting me as a SRNA! Well hope everyone enjoys their time off , last shifts, and holidays...See some of you in Jan at BARRY!
