I had applied to surgical practice a few weeks ago via a Craigslist posting. Last night, I received an email stating my resume was reviewed and I was an accomplished applicant...which is great news as I am a new grad RN. The lady who emailed me said she wanted to set me up for an appointment with a doctor today. The only problem is she sent me the email at 8:41pm and the interview was suppposed to be 12:45pm today I unfortunately did not get to go because I am out of town. As I read the email, I immediately emailed her at around 9:30pm saying I was happy I was selected to interview, but if there was another day I could interview for since I am out of town. Also, a downer is I was told that the preferred way of contact is via email. A telephone number was not given. I haven't heard back so I'm worried I may have missed a chance. Working in surgery is my ultimate dream!
My question is even though I have already emailed, should I email again to see if the interview can be rescheduled? If so, how long should I wait?

My BS detector is shrieking at me over this one. Why is a surgical practice advertising on craigslist??? Do they not make enough money to PAY for advertising in a reputable publication, like the local newspaper? Why do they insist on email-only communication?? Why are they emailing you long after the clinic hours would be over?? Why did you only get 16 hours notice of the interview?? How could this person even expect that you'd see the email in time to attend an interview the very next day?? I would run as far as I could in the opposite direction just as fast as my legs could carry me.
