lake tech 2016

Published

Hi! Is there anyone that is starting the LPN program at Lake Tech in 2016? I'm in the beginning stages right now. I will be taking the tabe next week which I'm not worried about and I plan on purchasing the ATI package to prepare me for the teas test in September. I tried to get a few friends & co workers who are interested in nursing to join me but I guess it's not their time yet lol. Anyway I know I will be meeting new people along this journey so any feed back is great!.

Hi. I'm starting my program in 2016 also. June to be exact. I have to pass a TABE and TEAS test in October Kinda nervous about 2 different test but last week I started doing a couple pages a day of this teas workbook I have. Waiting on more books off amazon to come this week I actually ordered the ati book to. Let me know how your program goes. You can pm me anytime. Trying to find people just getting in to nursing also. I just started a cna job that motivates me to get my lpn because I can't do that for ever!!!!

Hi! I didn't go take the tabe yet, I was suppose to go last week but Im going today. The tabe is a breeze it's the teas that concerns me. I use to be a caregiver but that was not helping pay my portion of the bills so after two years I had to let that go. Now I'm in a better situation and I want to complete the program in 12months to hurry the process but at the same time I know part time will allow more time to study and work but 18months is just too long. I'll let you know how I do on both tests because thatll determine when I get accepted and start. Ttyl

*btw which school are you attending?

We've moved this thread to the LPN / LVN Nursing Student forum so it will amass more responses. Good luck to everyone who is trying to get admitted into school!

Even though no new comments :( I'm still posting an update. Well it turns out you don't have to take the tabe test at "some" schools if you have graduated in 2007 or later. I graduated from high school in 2008 so Lake tech just required my high school transcript. They said they only look for a withdrawal code that indicates I graduated. I ordered a the ATI study guide book from amazon because it's cheaper there vs the actual website. I've read great reviews on it. Some reviews even said after 10days or two wks of studying they've improved their scores by as many as 17pts! Anyway I have to take the teas test in September anywhere from sept 1st - sept 30th. I'll try some practice test to see how I do before I choose a test date.

I am considering going to this school as it is cheaper than Cambridge and a little closer to my home. I need to study for the TABE and TEAS. I would like to attend part time. Does the Eutis campus offer part time?

Idk about the tabe but I know i need to study for teas...anyone interested in some kind of study...thing...I'm desperate lol. Science I've totally forgotten about and math...Well I don't know where to start...how do you "study"?

Hi! If you go on there website they have almost all the info you need! Yes they do have a part time evening course. I was thinking about that program but my schedule changes too much for that. anyway part time is twice a week plus every other weekend. its 5pm-930pm two days out the week and I forget the weekend hours. And most tech schools are really cheap...its like less than $4k.

hi @mkelly when are you starting the program? I have a odd work schedule that changes every three months so right now I'm just studying on my off days which is Saturday & sundays.....its about to change next weekend though :( I'm not that great at math or science either but apparently the practice test are waaay harder than the actual test which is a good thing because everyone has been doing really well on the actual test but not that great on the practice test.

I called Lake Tech and was advise that the part time program alternates every year between the Eutis and Mascotte campus 😂😂😂

So I will have to wait until 2017 if I want to do part time. I really don't want to wait that long and I am unsure about changing my work schedule.

I am also thinking of attending lake tech part time. But I can't figure out where Mascotte is. Where is it at?

So have you decided what youre going to do?
