Jan 17, 201412 yr By far out of all the review programs, (Hurst, ATI, etc.) I found that Kaplan had the hardest questions and easily my scores were lower there. I was scoring in the 70's with ATI and my college instructor advised me that my scores would probably drop into the 50's when I started Kaplan. She was so right. Anyway, what I was told was to shoot for my scores to be in the 60's. Told that if I was scoring in the 60's I would probably be OK for the NCLEX test. Our Kaplan instructor told us the scores in the 60's was very good. Scores in the high 50's were good. Scores in the mid 50's still gave you a decent chance to pass and scores in the low 50's was a coin flip. My overall average was 58 but I was getting more scores in the low 60's by the time I took the test. I passed in my first attempt.I believe that if you are constantly scoring in the 60's and use the same strategies during the test you will be golden.
Jan 17, 201412 yr I am getting low score at 50s ... Laboring hard practicing a lot but they r not getting above the range . Don't know where I am lacking
Jan 17, 201412 yr Writing notes from content video and writing wrong and imp answers on copy . Making notes but ? And it's hard for me to correct sata question too and here exam is in head after 2 weeks . God give me strength so that I can overcome from all these difficulties and pass the nclex
Jan 17, 201412 yr I graduated from school on December 12 and just too my nclex on January 14. I did the online kaplan class, watched every single content review video, did every question trainer and ran out of qbank questions. My averages on the trainers were low 60s and my overall qbank average was 61%. My nclex shut off at 75 and I passed. I am certain that kaplan is the reason for this! Just stick with it and use the tree for every question! This method is what you will fall back to on test day. Best of luck!!
Jan 17, 201412 yr Author I took QT 6 and 7 and got 66% on both. My school also had us do a second exit HESI I got an 1100, and we used the new computer adaptive HESI exam and it shut off at 76 questions. My final test was the Kaplan predictor and I again received a 66%. I test Wed and I think I'm ready, but I am still doing questions daily!!
Jan 18, 201412 yr I am doing and getting similar scores in the trainers and qbank. A friend who just tested and passed the boards told me to do the sample test 3 and 4 as they have "who would you see first and select all apply". I am testing on 23rd and have done Saunders book and questions also. Good luck to everyone!!! I was skepital about Kaplan in the beginning but really believe it has helped me. Again good luck!
Jan 18, 201412 yr Ermahgerd! NCLEX on Tuesday!!! One more Q trainer and the rest of the sample exams and I'm good to go.
Jan 19, 201412 yr I took Kaplan as well. Got upper 50s in the beginning, 60s in the middle of the course and 70s by the end. I got a 78 on QT7. My NCLEX shut off at 75q and I passed. You sound like you're doing fine. Good luck!

Jan 19, 201412 yr Wow so nice to hear congrats :) I am doing my best but unable to raising score makes me upset where am I lacking in question or content but I have 2 more weeks to go hope I can make it :)I looked stuff up if I didn't know it. You can't sit there and list off topics that you don't know about. You find out that you don't know it when you can't answer questions on the topic. I follow some NCLEX pages on Facebook. They would post daily questions. If I didn't know the topic, I'd look it up right then. The random review helps solidify things in your memory.
Jan 19, 201412 yr Thank u for u suggestion I am trying to do my best hope I can make it , what u did for pharm ? I am scared of it and sata too
Jan 19, 201412 yr Yeah pharm was a weak area for me too. But I heard they decreased the # of pharm questions. Honestly, I didn't worry about it much. Know the classifications and major meds. I got one classification question and two questions on specific meds. But I knew those meds so I was confident in the answer choices I put for all of them. Actually, the one I had on a classification was a SATA.There's really not much prep you can do for SATA other than knowing nursing content. Read the question stem and answer choices, evaluate which answer choices are relevant. That's all you can do.
