Kaplan and Nclex

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been reading many posts regarding Nclex readiness with Kaplan. Is it true that if you score about 65% on their question trainer and 60% on the Q bank, means you are ready? I am averaging a bit higher than this but haven't studied content that intensely.

And...I will take NCLEX this Saturday..less than 2 days away now!:uhoh3:

I had studied the 1st 10 chapters of Saunder's Comprehensive intensely, until everyone I met said "do questions, not content". Is this true?

Also, I just scored 73.8% on the diagnostic questions that come with CD-Rom in Kaplan's strategies book. What does this all mean???

Any advice as to whether I am ready or should consider rescheduling?

Thanks...

Take it your ready!!!! i never scored higher than a 62% on any of the question trainers or in the Q-Bank and found out that i passed yesterday. just do all of their questions and review the rationals and you will be fine. Remember that kaplan says that if you score 65% on their test they are 99% sure that you will pass the NCLEX. a 73.8% is excellent, DO NOT RESCHEDULE you will pass, be positive. keep up doing the questions from kaplan and saunders; i also did a little bit of sauders and it helps.

GOOD LUCK;)

i wouldn't reschedule. i did in the 60s on qbank and supposedly that is good.. i feel confident that i passed my nclex at 75 today. but still not sure!

gl!

Agreed! I think you're ready =)

I only got about 60% on the Q bank and right above borderline on the exit exam from kaplan (dont remember the percentage), and I just passed 2 days ago in 75 questions. At this point, I don't think another bout of studying will help you...Kaplan can only do so much. There were a bunch of questions that none of Kaplan's strategies would help with anyway, so might as well just get it over and done with. Good luck! I know you'll do fantastically =)

Don't reschedule!! I went through the exact same thing before my test. I was really considering rescheduling, but I'm glad that I didn't! I got high 50's to mid 60's on my Qtrainers and averaged in the mid 60's on Qbank. I passed with 75 questions! Read the rationales for all the questions, even the ones you got right. It really helps review content and understand how to answer the questions. Good luck!!!

I'm considering rescheduling my date too. My qbank scores are just not as high as I'd like them to be! My cumulative score for the qbank is 55% right now. I have used 665 of the questions.

My question trainers are as follows:

Question Trainer 1: 60%

Question Trainer 2: 63%

Question Trainer 3: 55%

Question Trainer 4: 56%

Question Trainer 5: 63%

It seems like I'm procrastinating on studying and I don't want to be studying as much now that the exam is so close.

I'm schedule for 8/17

I just finished the Nclex with 75 questions! But, I have no idea what this means. :uhoh21: However, I do feel Kaplan questions did a pretty good job at preparing me. In fact, their questions closely resemble the NCLEX. Much better than Saunders...which now I think is information overload. Good luck to everyone taking it...Will post results in hopefully 48 hours. ;)

Keeping my fingers crossed!!

HI,

My co-worker only finished Question 1-5 and scoring under 60%. She barely cracked open the Kaplan's review book and only did a handful of Q bank questions, which averaged in the mid 50s.

And, she passed with 85 questions.

It is difficult to assess when you are ready, isn't it?

my scores in question trainer:

1=67%

2=61%

3=66%

4=56%

5=63%

6=63%

7=59%

Computer stopped @ 75 and i passed
