Nurses General Nursing

:o Hi everyone. I have a question regarding Kaiser. Have you heard of a re-entry program for the nurses who haven't worked for a long time? -and then getting a job. In my position, I haven't worked for about 7 months. I just came home from an interview and didn't get the job because of this. :o Plus since I don't have any medical background. It was a med-surg medical position and they had a training program at the end of the month but it was for new grads only. My experience was Transitional Care and Peds Surgical. I hope I get some feedback.:o

Ok so why is your post titled Kaiser? What area do you live in? Maybe those who live in your area can post of a class that you can take. Perhaps 7 months off is too long a hiatus from nursing? There are always classes nurses can take when they haven't worked in the field for a while. In my area a local Adult school has two classes, the first class is 8 weeks long and is for the nurse who needs to brush up on skills; the other is for IV's.

Good luck in your job hunting. :)

Seven months isn't a long time away from nursing, certainly not enough to require you to take a refresher course unless you want to. If you didn't get the job, there must have been another reason. Otherwise, why would they have interviewed you in the first place, knowing your background. Keep on trying.

This has what exactly to do with Kaiser?
