Kaiser Advice Nurses: Do any of you work from home?

Long time CCU nurse looking for a set schedule and a way to coast into my golden years without a broken back. I also miss getting my nails done.

I have been exploring this option, and have but one interview left before being an Advice Nurse is a definite possibility.

I have heard a few nurses talk about being able to take calls from their home.

Please share what you know about this process.

I can imagine that it would take a certain length of time before this would be possible. Perhaps it is based on seniority, as many things are at Kaiser?

Thanks for any info. It is greatly appreciated, and will get my mind off of the burnout I feel from being at the bedside.

I am anxious to hear the feedback. I am a long time ER nurse and thinking about doing the same thing. I don't know a lot about Kaiser, but I have a good friend who works from home for CIGNA and she loves it. Hope you get the answers you need!

I work for Kaiser. The call center does not allow you to work from home.

I know a few Kaiser nurses and they all work from the office.

Hi Kimbalou! I recently applied for the Kaiser Advice Nurse position and still waiting for the on site interview. I was wondering how that went and what the interview entailed. How was the 6 week training as well? I have a year experience of Home Health and 2 years in SNF. I've tried applying for hospital jobs but no one will consider me because of my lack of experience so when I got a call from a Recruiter considering me for this position at Kaiser I jumped right at it. I'd love to work for Kaiser and thanks in advance for your help!

I am waiting for the on site interview also baynurse10. It's nice to see someone in the same place that I am! Which location is your preference? Mine is Vallejo.

Hi! Yes I picked Vallejo as well.

Cool! I will pm you baynurse10.

Hi ChaunceyRN, Still waiting to hear back from the Hiring Manager for the on site interview.

Oh wow.. I guess they're not as fast as I thought they would be! How does their hiring process go? Do you get an interview over the phone first before an onsite one?

There is a series of phone interviews and computer tests you have to pass. I think we are all still waiting to hear when we will be scheduled for the final on site interview.

I work at Kaiser as an advice nurse and NO you cannot work from home..but more importantly we or you should not want to. TSR (tele service reps) can and some do..but nurses are reluctant to do that and will put up a fight if this ever became an option.

kaiser is one of the highest paying companies in California if we all started working from home not only does this minimize our profession but will give Kaiser the ability to outsource jobs from California..
