Just venting.....

Hi all,

Well...my dad had a stress test earlier this week and yesterday the nurse called him and said that it was abnormal. They made an appt. for him to see a cardiologist today and it was then decided that he needed cath lab and possible stent placement. My mom called me and told me at about 1pm this afternoon. I quick got up, got dressed (I worked lastnight) and my hubby and I headed over there. He was in cath lab when we got there.....they found two blockages...one pretty severe which they stented and one that was partially blocked but still had blood flow thru it and another artery was supplying blood to that part of the heart (gosh I better review my coronary arteries)...anyways...they left that one alone. He went thru the procedure fine and is resting comfortably in CCU for the night. I can't tell you how scary it was for us today though. I'm sooooooooooo glad he's alright...but it scares me to think that my parents are getting older and are starting to deal with this stuff...(they're only 55 BTW).

It's so funny....if some of you have been following my possible switch to the telephone triag job, the paycut, etc, etc..... this whole episode has made me realize that money is not everything...time with family and friends is everything....I'v been pondering this job switch so hard for the past few days and now it seems sooooooooo un-important compared to what's going on with my dad...u know? Anyways...I just needed to talk about that for a minute....thanks for letting me ramble.

luv,

hi, I am so glad your dad is okay. You know I realized just today some of those same things about my parents... that they are getting older and going to have to deal with things like that soon (they are 49 and 50, not really old either...) but it's a strange feeling isn't it? I am glad it helped put things in some perspective so to speak... not that all those issues with a new job, etc. (which I've been reading about) are NOT important, not to say that at all. Just sometimes there are moments that make you realize what life's priorities are for real. Anyway I am rambling now :) but I just wanted to say again I am so happy your dad is okay now- that is wonderful.

:heartbeat Glad everything turned out OK for you and your family!

Excellent.
