I just arrested with DV, but the case was dismissed. Can Hospital find out it by checking background? I didn't say "yes" on conviction part because it was not conviction or any. Recently I was all most hired after interview but they canceled it without any explanation after a few days so that I guess it is because of that record after background check. Does any one know anything about that? Any advice? Any piece will help.

I think you need a lawyer. We can not help with legal advice and I think this falls under that catagory...I do not see how it relates to recovery.....

Have you asked them why things went south after the interview? It might not have been because of the background check. Perhaps the position was cancelled or filled internally, or they may have found a candidate who was a better skill fit.
AFAIK, you should be able to get a copy of your background check, at least I have been able to get copies of mine. Perhaps you should do that to see exactly what's on there...or if they won't let you get a copy of the background check they ordered, you can order your own.
As far as how to answer questions on applications or changing what appears on your background check, that you need to discuss with a lawyer.

The FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) allows for you to obtain a free copy of the background check completed on you by the vendor. Call the facility and ask who the vendor is and request their contact information. They are required by law to provide it. THEN you will see what the employer seen. If nothing showed up in your background check, then you were not offered the position for a different reason, probably one state in the above post.

I would do a self background check; just because the charges are dismissed does not mean it will not show up on a background check; only an expungement will restore your good name. You can do your own expungement or have an attorney do it; Expungement can take 8 months to 1 year. However, in some states, domestic violence is not eligible for expungement. Good Luck.

I thought the category (STS) is "licensure with a criminal history", not just about recovery.....
Am I mistaken =( ?
