Jobs while in Nursing Program

I am curious as to what the best jobs to have while in nursing school, to get by?

Thanks.

I worked as a nursing assistant at a long term care facility after the first year of my BSN program. pay was decent but mostly i was glad to have the experience

patient care tech for the experience, but i was a security guard while i went to school. I had to support myself and had to work full time, so i picked a job that i could do my homework and study at, worked out great!

Get trained and certified to be a Nurse's Aide in your state. You'll thank yourself later

I was a tech. Worked out great since I had to work FT and go to school. Went to school all week and worked Fri, Sat, and Sun. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Glad that's over! Whew! I don't know how I did it.

I worked in long-distance customer service for an electric company - terrible job. It paid well, but the stress was a constant reminder of why I needed to finish nursing school!

I worked as a patient transporter. It allowed me to see all parts of the hospital and learn where I would like to work later and where I would not. It was horrible for all the attitude you receive, but I was able to meet tons of nurses that wanted me to come work with them when I was finished with school and that allowed me to almost pick where I worked when I was done. Whatever you do work, it should be something in the hospital where you will see patients and see a lot to help you when you finish. Any experience gets you that much more prepared for when you are finished.

I work as a PCT in a hospital and a CNA at a nursing home, it's been great experience wise and oh so exciting when I run across something I learned in class at the hospital.
