Mar 11, 201610 yr I had my interview for the RN program at JCCC (Johnson County Community College) in early March 2016. I am anxiously waiting to hear! I know we might have to wait until May, but sure hope we find out sooner!
May 4, 201610 yr For the frugal: our PathoPhys books can be purchased on Amazon for about $5-$10 each with free shipping.
May 4, 201610 yr Wow, that's good to know! Thanks! I have been watching to see if any summer spots open up in the patho class, I check every day but so far there hasn't been anything :/ Have you had your interview with CMH yet?
May 5, 201610 yr I had e-mailed Michael Clark (the professor) to see about getting into his summer course. He said to check the roster May 31st, as students who don't make payment deadlines are automatically dropped. That said, I kept the app logged-in on my phone and checked regularly. I'd recommend doing that as well, so that, if possible, you don't get stuck waiting until June to have a certain plan. I just had my interview at CMH... I don't think it could possibly have gone better than it did, but I haven't heard anything yet. Scheduling a shadow for next week though. Have you heard anything?
May 25, 201610 yr BioChick, I replied to your message but got a popup that said I haven't been active enough to send a message so I have no idea if you got it :)
Nov 25, 20169 yr Hi ladies,I know this is an older thread so I'm not necessarily expecting a response, but I was curious what your ACT and GPA's were when you were accepted? JCCC is doing away with the interviews this year and it is going solely off of those two and I just wanted to know how I compare. (3.7 pre-req GPA, 29 on science ACT)Thanks!
Feb 11, 20179 yr Sorry for the delayed reply! I still can't believe they dropped the interviews- lucky you í ½í¸‰ Your GPA and ACT score both are great, I think you will do just fine! When are they supposed to start notifying people?
Feb 14, 20179 yr I got an email from a lady in the admissions office that they would start notifying people of their acceptance in mid/late February, so it sounds like we should hear any day now!! What do you think about the program? Do you like your instructors? I've heard nothing but good things but it is always nice to get an insiders perspective :)
Feb 14, 20179 yr I love the program!! The instructors are amazing. You have the one set of instructors for first and fourth semester and then a second set for second and third semester. Everyone has been awesome and very helpful- they all want us to succeed and be great nurses! Right now we are in our Peds/OB rotations and it's my favorite semester so far :)
Feb 17, 20179 yr JCCC is definitely my first choice school and it is so good to hear that all of the good things I have heard from counselors is true. Hopefully I will get to join you some time this fall!
Sep 22, 20178 yr Hi Hopefulgirl 2017!I did get into the program! When they send out acceptance and rejection letters, they will list your rank on the personal admission plan on the JCCC website. With my GPA and ACT I ranked in the top 20 (they accept 64). I know people got accepted with ACT scores significantly lower than mine and there were obviously people who had 4.0 and such but I would say you are definitely a competitive candidate. I have only been in nursing school for roughly 5 weeks so I only have limited experience with the program in general, but I have been extremely impressed with all of the faculty and in my class at least, everyone is super helpful and wants to help each other succeed. But best of luck with the application! The waiting is the hardest part. If you have any questions of what to expect, just message me on here. I am also in the KU dual program so I can give you information on that as well.
