Ivy Tech - Fall 2012

Thought I would start a thread to see how many people were applying to Ivy Tech's Fall 2012 nursing programs.

I will be applying to the Fort Wayne campus. Looking to see if they are any others out there who might be joining me.

Please feel free to post where you are applying, and then once those letter get mailed out at the end of May, let us know if you got in!

I'm not sure if it will work the same in the future, but many of the LPNs that started with me in the same class graduated from LPN last July and then got into the transition program and will now be graduating from the ASN this July. So, basically, they're graduating 2 months after me. It's not the end of the world, plus you get to work as an LPN (if you choose) while you finish the ASN program. Did all that make sense? The only down side is that you have to take the NCLEX-PN and then turn around and take the NCLEX-RN.

My wait is over, but I feel your pain. In all my life I had never stalked the mailbox like that. It's pretty crazy having to wait for something like that, because everything planned hinges on the one piece of paper. (I would say it's like a child waiting to receive Christmas presents, but that would be just plain wrong for a kid to get a rejection letter from Santa... coal maybe... LOL! You've been naughty!)

I know the waiting is painful :banghead: and every empty mailbox is

Congratulations! for those who've made it , prayers for those still waiting :heartbeat, and  for those who did not.

In the end, I wish everyone success in their endeavors to become a :nurse: !

(Yeah, I had to play with the emoticons... God bless!)

THanks for the info. It didn't even cross my mind about having to take the NCLEC-PN and then the NCLEX-RN. I am horrible at testing, ugh the test anxiety almost kills me. I've been doing well through my prereqs( 4.0gpa), but I froze during the TEASV, which will probably be why I don't get into ASN. I got a 76;( I felt the science portion was brutal.

I'll try not to stress about this yet. I should be happy that I made it into the LPN program.

I know, eventually I'll get one, but I now have to wait the whole holiday weekend before I find out. The wait was bad, but seeing everyone else getting letters seems to make it 100 times worse.

Maybe I should stop reading the boards until I get mine. lol

I'm right there with you.... :( Bloomington and Sellersburg... What are they waiting on? This probably means they have a pool of 700 applicants, and they had 150 score a 95 or above on the TEAS... and it's just taking FOREVER to sort through all the applicants... I'm worrying myself into a frenzy. This long weekend is going to seriously BLOW!!!! and YES, I'm in a bad mood. I can hear Advil PM calling my name, if I want to get any sleep these next few nights... and I'm usually a patient person, I really am...(But congratulations, lilboop, anyway)... :yelclap:

Yes, test anxiety is not fun... and I heard the TEAS V was much harder than IV, which is the one I took. You should be happy you made it in LPN, that's a coveted spot and you had to work hard to get there!

I know how hard it is to wait and it's horrible that the campuses haven't sent out stuff yet, but hang in there. There is MUCH more to provoke anxiety once you get in to the program, so start learning/using some of those stress-relief techniques now. Try to enjoy your weekend, because nothing is going to happen til Tuesday. So, you can either be p.o.'d and stressed these next couple of days or you can take some time for yourself because once you get in, there won't be a whole lot of that available!! Good luck, and I hope your letters come asap!
