IV training necessary?

I graduated in the philippines and our school didn't have any special IV training or preperation during school so my question is, is it necessary to get IV training before getting a job or the hospital will help train me? if its necessary, are there any iv training courses here in Texas? if i get an IV training in the philippines, do i need to get a certification?

thanks guys!

Most that employ LVNs have to provide this training as it is not included in standard LVN curriculum. IV therapy is part of US RN curriculum, so facilities that do not need to train LVNs may not provide a course - just a skills checkoff as part of orientation. You will need to negotiate this training if you are hired into a nursing position. I have not heard of any stand-alone courses for IV therapy recently, but you may be able to find one.
