Its been a hard long road for me to get into BSN nursing school. I recieved a 73% in Patho and failied the class. It was the 2nd class that I had failed. I repeated the 1st class and passed but the program only allows 2 failed classes. I was dismissied from the program. I was told that I can not be a nurse so I should look for another major. I applied at another university and was denied because of my dimissial. is there any BSN nursing program that will accept me or should I just let it go and move on. I no that I would be a good nurse just because I failed a class by 2 points should not be a reason for not becoming a nurse is it? Am I fooling myself? Please help me seen the truth so I can move forward. Thanks My current overall GPA is 2.5

There are many ways to become a nurse. You could try getting a diploma or an ASN. You could try more than one other BSN program for admittance. It could be with the two failures that your GPA is too low now to get into another program. If that is a problem and you really want to be a nurse, retake the classes and get a better grade. You could get a BS in another subject and then do a BS to BSN. Like I said there are many ways to become a nurse. You have to figure out how much do you want it and then do what is needed to get there. Good luck in your continued journey.

Honestly--where there is a will there is a way. That is not just a cliche:) If it is your true heart's desire or dream -- you can and will find a way to make it happen! I guess, like anything else, you have to weigh the pros/cons and decide how much effort you are WILLING to put into it, etc..By no means do I believe this is the end of the road unless you choose it to be:) Best of luck and let us know what you decide and how it's going:) Stay encouraged!

You didn't mention how far you got in your program, but if you finished at least 50% of it, you can enter Excelsior College. They accept your classes with a passing grade. Good Plan B.
Another possibility, if you can't get into another RN program, would be for you to take an LPN program, then bridge from LPN to RN. Just keep applying to schools and talk to them about ways to fix your GPA and chances. It isn't over until you decide to quit trying. Good luck.

YES you CAN still be a nurse! As previously stated you could go about this many ways. A girl in my 4 year program failed 2 courses and had to leave the program. She went to another BSN program the very next semester (and had to repeat the courses). Last I heard she has done fine and graduates in December. Keep looking at all of your options! ~Jess

sweetie, i know it has to be rough for you, but please don't give up!! where there is a will, there is a way! this is only a temporary setback, so have a good cry and keep on pushing forward. just remember that everything happens for a reason and that we are never given anything more than we can handle. i wish you the absolute best and i'll send up a prayer for you.
stay strong and keep your head up. never let anyone or anybody tell you that you can't make it. in the end things will work out and you'll be fine in time.
hugs!!

I too had my second fail, I felt like giving up also, working as an NA has totally changed my attitude though! I decided I will be a nurse someday they say things happen for a reason and boy they sure do, My mom passed away 4 weeks ago had I been in school I would have missed all that valuable time i could never get back.
What private shools is everyone refering too?
