It's Nurses Week!

Is your hospital doing anything special?

Mine's holding the annual nurses breakfast. This year the cutbacks are showing. No hot food, only continental. No bacon, no pancakes. I suppose they could say they are being heart healthy???

We had a pancake breakfast this morning just to kick things off. I was just coming off of a 12 hour night shift so pancakes looked good.There is stuff going on all week.I think one of the days all shifts get pizza and there is a dinner Wednesday night(but you have to pay $30, I passed). I think one day there was ice cream from Dairy Queen too.

My work place is doing a healthy eating week with something different each day, nothing much or exciting

Union gave us some money to spend among ourselves just asked that we let them know what we did with it

We got a letter to thank us for working for their company. That's it. Oh well, I got more thanks from my clients which means more to me than a letter mass printed.

There's a CARNA supper this week, and I think our facility had a lunch. Woo hoo. I was tempted to wear my nurses cap and dress in white, but I decided not to....

I always wonder....how the hell did they manage to wear their whites all day without getting noticeably dirty? That is an art in itself!
