ISU BSN program and Clinicals

hey guys, I really want to do this ISU BSN program but I'm skeptical about the program and the problem with looking for your own clinicals. Is it really as bad as I've been reading on these posts? And also I understand I would have to take teh TEAS exam and score high on it. Can someone tell me how high I need to score and is the exam hard, cause I really suck in math.

Check in with chaxanmom -- she's in MD as well, and is enjoying the program very much. I believe ISU has contracts for clinicals in place with several MD hospitals, including Suburban and Johns Hopkins.

ISU does have a contract with both JHH and Hopkins Bayview in Baltimore. I've had a hard time getting ahold of the specific person I need at JHH so I've sort of given up and decided to stick with Suburban in Bethesda which has been great (!!) to work with. PM me and I'll give you the name and number of the person at JHH who was helping me. Don't call the # on the ISU list. That's legal and they're no help.

Getting your clinicals arranged can be a challenge. It was easy for me until I needed ICU and hospitals are much more guarded with that (for obvious reasons). I already know my preceptor well and she knows everyone at Suburban so I had that to my advantage. Personally, I like the challenge but I'm a little weird like that (lol!) but you may want to do the footwork for JHH or Bayview before you enroll just to be on the safe side. You can't initiate a contract anywhere else right now because you have to be a nursing student with them first but if you'd prefer another hospital you can still contact them and make some pre-arrangments beforehand.
