my issue with my school and their policies

Published

I'm attending a private LPN school in IL and everything is more or less okay except for the fact that we are not allowed to review tests/exams to see what we got wrong on the tests and before each exam they have students sign a statement that we will not pursue questions on the exam with a instructor that we think are wrong. This is a new change in the school and happened a few months ago because we would review the tests and find errors on the exam and multiple grading mistakes on our tests

I was just curious if anyone else had this happen to them and if you did anything about it because it seems like its a violation of the IL board of nursing approval of lpn program F.7 " The curriculum shall be evaluated by faculty with student input, according to a stated plan"

Lastly I was wondering if I should go directly to the board or a lawyer about my concerns, I cant speak to dean of nursing there because the wavier i sign each test allows them to drop me from the program.

Wow thats insane, by taking any kind of action you're kind of walking a very thin line. Look through your student handbook and if there's nothing to guide you in there maybe call your BON?

in my handbook it states that were allowed to go over tests but their new policy voids it. I really have no idea what to do now

You have to sign a waiver each test that allows them to drop you from the program for asking questions? I'd call that extortion.

what I would do is call the board and ask them these important questions. I'll bet they'd have answers for you.
