Pccti review Updated information 2013
newhaven as a employee do you have any idea why they ignore the errors on the majority of their tests? Like as a student some of the questions are illegible or the grammar is so bad and when a student points it out, its always "they'll look into it"

update on ATS nursing school
PCCTI isn't the best school but its definitely not the worse either. You just have to be willing to keep track of your own paperwork and you have to be able to study and teach yourself because half the teacher are pretty worthless. at the end of the day though pccti is at 100% nclex and putting out students who were willing to earn their license also theyre only 20k for their program

Required textbooks vs. simplified topic specific texbooks
I use nursing reviews and rationals by mary ann hogan, they have a book for each main topic and on itunes it has audiobooks that go along with each book.

my issue with my school and their policies
in my handbook it states that were allowed to go over tests but their new policy voids it. I really have no idea what to do now

my issue with my school and their policies
I'm attending a private LPN school in IL and everything is more or less okay except for the fact that we are not allowed to review tests/exams to see what we got wrong on the tests and before each exam they have students sign a statement that we will not pursue questions on the exam with a instructor that we think are wrong. This is a new change in the school and happened a few months ago because we would review the tests and find errors on the exam and multiple grading mistakes on our tests I was just curious if anyone else had this happen to them and if you did anything about it because it seems like its a violation of the IL board of nursing approval of lpn program F.7 " The curriculum shall be evaluated by faculty with student input, according to a stated plan" Lastly I was wondering if I should go directly to the board or a lawyer about my concerns, I cant speak to dean of nursing there because the wavier i sign each test allows them to drop me from the program.

the school is improving slowly very slowly, the more the students complain to state and the more things get fixed, they even adjusted the grading scale for ati tests so its now 50% of your grade( these tests are very fair and direct) futureneonurse I cant respond to your message I haven't posted enough

a lot of people that didn't make it worked full time jobs and didn't take it seriously, clinicals started about 4 weeks in for my class. the work load from class is manageable but its pretty much just self studying from the books they give you. I wasn't passing the class until I quit my job and I passed the first half with a 86.

I'm at the Oak Brook campus. I did pass N101 and out of 30 students in are class only half moved on to the next semester. The class its self is just a lot of studying from the book they give you, there isn't really any homework or papers to write

Going to a private school verse staying at community college has its advantages and disadvantages, if you think your ok with working at a nursing get your lpn. Starting pay for a lpn in your area at nursing homes is around 20-23 and they're jobs out there in the suburbs, Cna's make around 9.75-11 and is the most thankless job ever. check out the list of programs in IL on the school part you'll be able to find something in your area, most programs that are privately are around 15k-20k range

CMK Healthcare LPN Program
I have a question about their math requirements, I called the school but couldn't really get a straight answer. I noticed they stopped offering their math class and i think it was elementary algebra, their website has this on the requirements " College coursework in English and Math with a grade average of C or Higher. " does that mean I just need a college math or do I have to do college algebra?

CAAN Academy of Nursing LPN Program in Matteson, IL
if your waiting on prereqs you should check out straighterline.com, They have AP1 and & AP2 along with a lot other prereq type classes. I've been doing the english 101 and medical terminology and honestly they're not hard to bad and I was terrible at english. I'm half-way through both of the classes and its only been about 2 months, I'm enjoying summer way to much and taking my time with it.
