Is this going to be a problem when applying? criminal background check?

hi everyone, i am applying to csu channel island's nursing program within a couple of weeks and recently, [color=#333333]i went to school the other day, and as i was getting out of the parking lot i creeped a little forward. slightly touching the back of another car. we both pulled over to look if there was any damage done. there was a very small scratch- in which could easily be buffed out. i kept looking at it, and kept asking him if it was alright. he said it was alright and that everything's okay. so i went into my car and drove away. i find then that he followed me and copied down my license plate number. i actually pulled over, looked at his car, and asked if everything was okay ... but then the next day, i get a call from his insurance company saying that he made a claim as a hit and run- in which then he filed a police report. freaked out, i go to the police station and look for my report, the officers there then told me that no report has been made yet but rather something called a service? according to my dad, this is something necessary when making a claim to the insurance company, meaning to say that it isn't the actual report. in addition, my dad told me that the only reason as to why they did that would be as a way of making sure that i pay for the damages via my own insurance and they basically just notified the police- not actually making a report. i know it was very stupid of me to bump into his car, but now i'm paying for it dearly. i am applying to nursing school in a week and it asks for a criminal background check and i really don't want something like this to pop up.

apparently a hit and run is considered as a misdemeanor and i really just don't want this to disable my chances of getting into the program. i swear, i'm a good person. it was just this one accident and i feel as though my life is being shred to pieces :/

we can't give legal advice here, so this is my personal advice: there's no hit-and-run here; even if there were, a misdemeanor won't disqualify your from school or licensure. make a report to your insurance company, they'll be in touch with his, your premiums will go up a little bit, and that's the end of it. nursing school will not care.

Were you actually arrested and charged? You did not commit a hit and run. You were involved in a fender bender. This guy sounds like a freak.
