iPad apps?

I know I've seen people mention different apps, but when I tried searching the forums I couldn't find a post about apps so I figured I'd ask for recommendations...

Any iPad apps that you found very useful in school? Any that were a waste of time? Also interested in phone apps too...

I'm new to apps in the academic world so it's hard to guess what might be helpful... I'm a 2nd degree BSN student so all jr/sr year coursework.

If you go to the store in iTunes you can spend all day long tooling around through apps. There are topics like note-taking, productivity, medical, all sorts of things. I paid good money for the Netter illustrations for anatomy to help with patient teaching, but I can see it would be great for someone taking anatomy, too. Medscape, all the different nursing specialties, Taber's, Epocrates, Convert, Lab Values, Medline-- I use all of these often, and most are free or very cheap (less than $2.99). I have all of them on my iPhone too.

Thanks! I browsed the itunes store before posting this, which is why I decides to ask : )

Lots to choose from and most are reasonably priced, but a few are a bit pricey and I wanted to know what was worth it before getting any of the more expensive ones. I'm definitely looking for a note taking program, but a pharmacology app and lab values app would be great reference... as well as a practice test question bank.

If your professor does lots and lots of powerpoints and you do not want to print out the slides, I recommend iAnnotate PDF for note taking because you can actually write on the slides and highlight material.

There is a free micromedex by Truven

For fun, I recommend downloading Prognosis. It's just a case study "game" and discussion.

Be careful about buying NCLEX review questions from companies like Saunders, Davis, and Lipincott because they just repeat questions from their book and CD.

I love Micromedix and Notability. I use them religiously. Also Dropbox...a great way to store all your stuff and keep it accessible.

Also, try ABGStat for quickie ABG results. The neat thing is, after a while you begin to see patterns and can figure them out yourself much faster

I bought the Nurse's pocket guide to help me with care plans during clinicals. It costs $40 but it has helped me tremendously.
