I'm currently only a freshman in a BSN program..but I came across a question..
How do NP's introduce themselves to patients? For example, a nurse introduces themselves as Nurse Blah Blah and MD's introduce themselves as Dr. Blah Bah.
How do NP's do it?

hi there,
you can review the thread posted by siri for more input... but the way i address myself is this:
"hi mr. jones, i'm daisyrn (first name)... the nurse practitioner for the group." i expect them to call me by my first name as i am still quite young, but one of the md partners introduces me as "ms. daisyrn (first name)"... that's fine too, i suppose.

I'm guessing there is probably a thread on this as well, but while I'm here I'll throw it out there...
How about addressing a nurse with a DNP? Dr, or just prefix (Ms, Mr, Mrs)?
