I am starting to interview for my first NP job. What are some good questions to have answered? I know that number of providers and number of patients seen per day are good to know. Any others? Thanks.

1. How many APNs/PAs do you currently employ? Can I shadow one?
2. What are the typical duties?
3. Call responsibilities?
4. Orientation?

1. How long is orientation? who will you shadow?
2. Any advanced skills that you will be responsible to do? and who will teach you? i.e central line insertion, LP puncture, arterial line insertion etc..
3. How many other NPs in the department? can you meet them
4. What is staffing ratio or how many other NP/PA/residents will you be working with?
5. Who is your support person during your shift? i.e the attending, fellow, senior resident, or fellow NP
6. How are shifts scheduled? rotating shifts etc...

Do you have to sign a non compete agreement if so what is it
CME info/paid tiem off and reimbursement
