Interview Question

Hi guys! I was able to meet with the recruiter to a hospital I really want to apply to during one of my clinicals. One of the questions that she likes to asks is name a time where you didn’t get your way and how did you handle it? I’ve been really stumped thinking of an example from past work experience.

It doesn't have to be past work experience. It can be a life lesson answer as well.

Its actually really okay to give an example where you didn't deal with it well, then go on to show how you think about it differently now and what you wish you would have done.

You presumably don't have much/any experience working as an RN, so your answer doesn't have to be clinical necessarily. For the most part, its a soft ball question, and the only wrong answers are ones that make you look like a crazy person. So tell a brief story (one about school or clinicals is good, but other areas of your life are ok too), and make it compelling and interesting and maybe even funny. Try not to sound either like a complete pushover or a demanding entitled jerk, and you'll be fine.

The trick is to find something that shows that your handling of the situation led to personal growth and/or showed that you are a team player. That's what the recruiters are usually looking for.

How about:

"I went ahead and married her anyway."
