an internship or a tech position might be an ideal way to get your foot in the door, if you are able. Otherwise, you can read and do some studying on your own to increase your knowledge. There is a thread in the ICU forum about good books for new hires, you may want to check some of them out.

the best way to get experience and increase your critical care knowledge base is by working in a critical care area. I started working in an ICU right after my junior year of nursing school and I learned a LOT!!!!
