So I have had trouble finding a job where I am at and i finally had the interview that scored me a job..night-shift, part-time..well, I was okay with it but I am currently in a Post-RN BSN option program..so I do go to school during the week..So I accepted it for now..

Well I just got a call from another hospital, the one I had wanted a job with (they only had night-shift full-time open) and they offered me an interview for full-time day shift..which is what I want.

I just accepted the job with this hospital a week ago..I like the facility but night shift isn't going to work...It would but I would be hurting and maybe suffering with my grades..

What do i do and how do I tell this hospital if I do decide to accept the offer?

Specializes in ICU, Cardiac.

If you do get the other day position, you call them, thank them for the offer and let them know you accepted a full time day position at another facility.

this happened to me. i accepted a position earlier in the day at a hospital that was my 2nd choice. just 2 hours later, my 1st choice came through and i was crushed. i was honest with the HR person of the my 1st choice hospital and she helped me handle the situation, told me what to say to the 2nd choice place etc. even now i see her occassionally as i go through the halls and there is a special smile and a warm hello exchanged between us every time.

I turned down a job offer after I accepted it tentatively. I just said that my husbands job has changed his hours and it was going to be a conflict with the schedule for me to work 12 hour shift and all they had was 12 hour shifts. I really don;' t think I wanted to work there as they started out at 20.00 hourly for a snf and I feel I am worth more than that. I accepted a secured alziemers assisted living facility for 2.00 more an hour and 8 hour shifts. After working full time 12's for 10 years i was feeling really burned out and am ready for just partime hours despite not haveing the benefits.....im gonna let my husband do it for a while so I can continue to care about nursing cause I was honestly on my way to just wanting to work at walmart.
