I'm still in shock ...!

I'm trying to get a grip on being terminated from my job,just about sixty days into it. I really think my co-worker/officemate set me up for impending failure... She seemed to put me off constantly with sweet little comments, "Oh, it takes time. It's very busy here." I needed her to show me the ways of this Company with regards to this job,their pc applications,their policies etc..Now, I'm an easy going,supportive,nonthreatening low key person. So,what's the deal ? A few weeks later, I asked the admin. if it would be ok if we(he) asked the regional person to come visit work with me as the co-worker did'nt seem to have the time for me.(I did'nt quite word it that way)And sweetie knew I was going to ask him. Well,yes,she did come and helped a little but I really had to "share her" with the rest of the facility that day. Sorry I'm going off on a tangent..:cry: The Regional person returned for another visit recently. She shared that she thought there might be some control issues with "sweetie". During the am.,the regional found some reports that were almost going to come up late. They were mine and I let her know I was waiting on "sweetie",as she asked me to wait !! for her to submit them. Anyway,She also found many mistakes and missing reports that belonged to sweetie and so on and so forth just as she found the last visit. Never mind that my little sweetie took two days in the office to sort through,organize,update and file care plans and reports before the regional was to come the first time. The admin.stopped by our office one day(rare visit)our office is in the back of the building (Oh.. and early on, she did enjoy helping me to distinguish the different shoe sounds coming down the hall.:bugeyes: ) She was not in there for his quick visit. He quickly asked what the pile of papers on the floor was ? I had to say(because I really did'nt know),"I think she's cleaning or organizing?" I was busy entering reports in the pc. Almost 2 months after I'm hired,he asked me into his office to let me know that my work was not up to their standards and I was fired. Of course,I let him know,but not in these words,that my work here has not been up to my own standards and my frustration here, getting cooperation has been utterly overwhelming... Is'nt it a crazy idea that I should want to apply for a position just so I can go in and WORK ?!! :angryfire Please send me some honest thoughts...(I'm too nice...too patient...need to be more forceful-assertive from the onset?) What can I get out of this ? Besides get the **** out...:uhoh3: Thanks....

i know its upsetting, but id apply for another job. dont worry about that dept or that "sweetie". keep your head up it will be alright =)

Oh man... sometimes there are those kind of people,, and you really can't do anything about it. It was bad luck that you had her orienting you. YOu couldn't do your work because she hadn't really shown you HOW to do it. The thing is,, now you don't work there,, the next poor sap who works with her is going to go through the same thing. I wonder how many people will float through that position before they figure out it is her, and not you.

It doesn't matter now, it really doesn't. For you, what really matters is now. What are you going to do now? Don't dwell on that crap, it will just bring you down. And that is the last thing you need right now.

Hit the pavement and find a new job. Don't sit around any longer, it is only giving your addiction opportunity to feed. You've got to get up and get really busy finding a job. You are worthy, and you will find a good job for you.

You'll be a functional part of society and you will do your part in circulating money through the economy. lol this is what I tell myself everyday when I get ready for work... "mags.. go to work,, someone has to pay the taxes"

Hey thanks mag, for letting me vent off...I've been so **** off...!! And being a baby...:icon_roll ty.

It's good to vent. I feel like it makes me feel better when I do it! That's why I did it tonight. Sometimes typing it all down and reading it over makes you feel better.

And sometimes it feels good just to know you're not upset for no reason, and that other people understand where you're coming from.

Sometimes only a nurse, and maybe only a recovering nurse can really try to understand what you're going through. There are so many things that we go through that do not necessarily pertain to our addiction, but it still has a lot to do with how we deal with it.

Do you get what I'm saying?> I'm trying to explain it somehow, it is hard to explain.

Anyway,, just hang in there. It's easy for me to tell you this,, but really,, hang in there and it will get better. One day you will realize it was all worth it. Everything.

I know exactly what you mean. I think part of recovery is learning how to retrain your brain to react,respond and act without the "need" for drugs or booze. Something like that. Snuggling with our ocicat kitty ,"Charlie" and having some rocky road ice cream helps a lot...:redbeathe Thanks, It really does feel better when you can have your feelings validated. Your posts and a bunch of others today and last nite were pretty cute ! (Can addiction be cured.?) Gotta get myself to bed...ty...
