ID Badge

Does anyone here wear one of those ID badges that hangs below your school ID that gives your credentials in large letters?  I feel that the small "RN" on my school-issued ID is not easily noticeable (by subs, visitors, social workers, parents, etc).  As nurses we know the legal requirement of our credentials being clear.

I've always heard that size doesn't matter....is this not true??!?

I feel like I've been mislead...?

No never have. I’m the only nurse in the building so it’s not like I get confused with other medical personnel since there are none. Also, the general public and most teachers don’t know the differences in the types of nurses nor do they care. I don’t even think my ID says RN. I think it just says school nurse. Pretty sure as long as I took care of all vomit, blood and lice they would not even care if I was a circus trainer! ?

In my district, we wear a red hang tag behind our school ID with "RN" in big white letters on it.  Our aides have a green hang tag behind their ID that says "Aide".  I feel like they make it easy to distinguish ourselves in the buildings; no one else wears hang tags.

I bought a cute sparkly one from Amazon. I just started as a sub. My hubby says I’m trying to flex…maybe I am. I worked darn hard for those two letters behind my name!
