I have a quick question for any NP's out there

I'm within 10 months of graduating with my BSN(yea I'm already counting down the time). My plan after graduation is to get into PICU or CV-ICU. I want to get my masters and be a PNP, with a cardiac specialty. I'm still not too sure how to get that Cardiac specialty. But my question is

1. If I'm a PNP working 3 days a week. Is it still possible to work as an RN other days of the week...say as a PICC line nurse or on an IV team? Basically can an APN work as an RN in a different setting still.

It depends if the facility will undertake that liability. I am an APN but wanted to work staff registry at one point in an ER (the major part of my nursing background). Nope - they said I would still be held to the standard of the APN even though I was hired as an RN.

Not sure after hearing that that I would want to work as an RN anymore just due to the liability.

On the other hand if the OP was working as an APN doing PICC lines the hospital could actually bill for it. All the people that put in PICCs here are NPs or PAs. Then it would depend on if the OP could work for two different departments without incurring overtime.

Then that sounds interesting, I'd like to do PICC lines and still work as an NP somewhere.
