i have med sheets that i have been working on and out of 23 med this pt is on...8 of them i cannot find. could someone help me please? at least steer me in the right direction...*hands and knees*

1. xenaderm ointment

2. lubiskin lotion

3. promethegan sup 25mg

4. senna-ducusa tab (sorry if thats spelled wrong)

5. travatan sol

6. akwa tears

7. metoclopram tab 5mg

8. cosopt sol

maybe if i could just figure out the generic names...i would be able to find it. i've looked in 2 drug books, walgreens.com, cvs.com, and askjeeves.com (i was desperate @ that point). lol i even called my local pharmacy!

thanks in advance...

sinn ;)

off the top of my head i would have to say senna is a stool softener and akwa tears are just artificial tears (like visine- most likely saline)

#3 is Promethizine or Phenergan Suppositories

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

1. Xenaderm Ointment - try granulex as an alternate brand - these are trypsin, balsam peru and castor oil skin protectant sprays.

2. Lubiskin Lotion - Look up Lubriderm Lotion - it's OTC

3. Promethegan Sup 25mg - Promethazine - promethegan is a brand name

4. Senna-Ducusa Tab - Dulcolax or sennakot - OTC

5. Travatan Sol - try travapost

6. Akwa Tears - OTC artificial tears

7. Metoclopram Tab 5mg this one is either metoclopramide (reglan) or Metoprolol - a beta blocker - two completely different drugs

8. Cosopt Sol - this one should be easy enough to find on a google search. Its an optical beta blocker for people with glaucoma

Specializes in Pediatrics Only.

I recommend Webmd.com

They usually have all of the drugs. I also use Discoveryhealth.com ; which has a section on drugs as well as an interaction checker.

Good luck! Just type the drug name in google and you should get something!

On Xenaderm:

It helps to know what conditions this patient is diagnosed with, this will make it easier for you to understand what kinds of meds they might be on or are currently taking. As far as #7 goes, I do not believe it would be Metoprolol as mentioned in another post. Metoprolol only comes in 25,50,100mg tablets. So maybe it is metoclopamide but I am not familiar with this medication. Sounds like the majority of these you have listed are OTC meds. Good luck with your search.

i just wanted to drop you guys a line and let u know how helpgul u were!!! thanks so much!!!

Go to the pharmacy at the facility in which you're doing your clinical and ask for the package inserts, or whatever packaging it comes in. That will give you the generic name for the drug or, in the case of some products, the ingredients. From there you should be able to look most of them up.

Good luck
